More than 15 years of experience with people and relationships
I am a trained social counsellor, and since completing my therapy training in 2011 I have had clients in therapy – with ongoing further training in systemic therapy, mentalization, trauma work, sexology and couples therapy. Today my particular focus is on relationships and sexuality.
I also work with you who have experienced violence, sexual abuse, addiction or an upbringing marked by insecurity – in your own life or as a relative. There is room for what you carry, and you do not have to tell your whole story at once. Of course, you do not need to have had difficult experiences to come. Many seek help with relationships, desire or a life crisis.
From first contact to a course of therapy
How it works with me
You do not need to know exactly what is wrong or where to start. We begin where you are.
Together we explore what hurts and the patterns you want to change. The goal is that you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, become clearer about your needs and boundaries, and find new possibilities for action. If you come as a couple, we also work with what happens between you.
I am bound by professional confidentiality and receive supervision on my therapeutic work. Your safety and the quality of our conversations are central parts of my professional responsibility.
Shall we have a first conversation?
You are welcome to book a free, clarifying phone call of about 10 minutes. You can tell me a little about what you are looking for help with, ask questions and sense whether I might be the right therapist for you or the two of you.
Words from others
What others who have sat here say
Coming to therapy was not nearly as hard as I had expected. I feel safe, and I know that Signe helps me make sure we talk about exactly the right things.
Signe’s help is HUGE! I know the responsibility is mine, but wow, the things I take home with me are so tangible, EVERY single time!
I came to Signe because I thought I was going to leave my wife. I got new energy in my life and my sex life with my wife, and now I enjoy our family with two small children more.

Couples therapy
Conversation and new patterns for couples who want to understand each other better and break the repetitions that keep you stuck.
Maybe you end up in the same conflicts again and again. Maybe an emotional distance has grown between you, or you miss the closeness and connection you used to have. In couples therapy we look at the pattern – and at what you long for more of.
You are not the problem. The pattern you get caught in is.
Read about couples therapy in Virum and Copenhagen. When we talk about desire and closeness, you can also read about sexological therapy.
You will not get a standard recipe. But you will not necessarily go home with a friendly nod and even more questions either. Together we find tools that make sense in your particular life.

Knowledge you can use
Read about relationships and closeness
Some things are good to understand before you try to change them. In my articles – written in Danish – I write about attachment, desire and the patterns that can grow between partners.
Tilknytning i parforhold (in Danish) – about why one partner seeks contact while the other pulls away, and what you can do for more safety.
Manglende lyst i parforholdet (in Danish) – about spontaneous and responsive desire and the patterns that strain closeness.
See all articles – an overview of what I have written about relationships and closeness.
Good to know
Frequently asked questions
How long is a session?
Individual sessions last 60 minutes and couples therapy lasts 90 minutes. The first session is also used to get to know each other and find out what you would like to work on.
How many sessions will I need?
It is very individual. Some come a few times, others need a longer course. We talk along the way about what makes sense for you, and you decide when you are done.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book a time online or send an SMS to ask about availability. You do not need a referral from a doctor or anyone else to come to therapy.
Is everything we talk about confidential?
Yes. Everything we talk about is confidential. I am bound by professional confidentiality and do not share information about you or your sessions with third parties.
Can I come online?
Yes, I offer sessions both online and by phone, so you can take part no matter where you are. Some prefer that, others come in person – we will find what works best for you.
What if I need to cancel?
If you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment, the full fee is charged. If you need to cancel or move a session, please do so as early as possible.
What happens in the first session?
We start by talking about what brings you here and what you hope to get out of therapy. There is no pressure – we go at your pace, and you decide how deep we go.
Do you make diagnoses?
No, I do not make diagnoses. We focus on your experiences and the patterns you want to understand or change. If I think you need another kind of professional help, I will say so.
Can I come even if I do not know what is wrong?
Absolutely. Many come precisely to find out what hurts or feels stuck. Finding words for it is an important part of the work.
Do you talk about sex in therapy?
Yes, when it is relevant to you. Sex, intimacy and the body are a natural part of life, and there is room to talk about it openly and without judgement.
You can find more answers on the page about prices and booking and in the section about my background on About Signe.
