Sexological therapy
Sexologist in Copenhagen Ø and Virum – conversations about sex and desire
Sexological therapy is rarely only about sex. It is about the whole picture – body, feelings, relationship, shame, desire and everything just beneath the surface. Here there is room to talk openly, without judgement and without sensationalism.

Conversation therapy
Sexological therapy with me is talking therapy
We work with conversation as the tool. Sexuality can be tied to your upbringing, relational experiences, shame and boundaries – and sometimes the explanation for what is hard is found there. Other times it is about something else entirely, and we explore it together with curiosity instead of assumptions. No fantasy or preference is in itself a problem we need to explain our way to.
What we can talk about
Everything that belongs
Sexology holds more than most people think. It is about desire and the absence of desire, about shame and boundaries, about the body and performance pressure, about fantasies and different needs. It is about intimacy and about the earlier experiences we carry into our close relationships. All of that can be talked about here – naturally, honestly and with respect for how vulnerable it can be.
Desire and mismatched desire
When desire differs, or when it disappears. We look at what it may be telling you.
Shame and boundaries
When shame holds you back, or when your boundaries are not respected.
Body and performance pressure
When the body feels wrong, or when sex becomes a performance instead of a pleasure.
Fantasies and needs
Room to talk about what you think about – without it being judged.
Earlier experiences
When something from the past still leaves traces in your life and your intimacy.
Intimacy and presence
When it is about feeling each other – also without sex.
Sexual communication
When it is hard to say what you want – and what you do not want.
Sex in long relationships
When desire changes through years, everyday life, illness and age.
Sexuality always holds several layers: the biological – body, hormones and age; the psychological – shame, performance pressure and what we have learned about our own worth; and the relational and experiential – attachment, boundaries, earlier experiences and the patterns that have grown between you over time. That is why we sometimes look at more than sex itself.
If desire is at the very centre – because it has disappeared, or because you have mismatched desire – you can read my page (in Danish) about low sexual desire and mismatched desire in relationships.

Sometimes the body needs to be part of it
Physical symptoms, hormones, your cycle or menopause can affect how you experience sex, body and desire. If I assess that some of what you experience may have a medical cause, I will encourage you to talk to your doctor. Therapy and medical assessment do not exclude each other – they can complement each other.
Difficulties with erection or ejaculation
Difficulty getting an erection or ejaculating – or reaching ejaculation – is something many experience, and it can weigh heavily, both for the person it concerns and for the couple. In our conversations we can explore the experience: the pressure, the expectations and the contact between partners. Nervousness and performance pressure often play a role. If there may be physical causes, I encourage a medical assessment – the two can easily go hand in hand.
How we work
At your pace, with respect for the vulnerable
Talking about sex and intimacy requires trust. We build it slowly, and you decide what we talk about. No demands to perform or to tell everything at once. We start where you are.
My approach is curious, not judgemental. I ask questions that can help you understand what is happening – in your body, in your relationships, within you. And together we find tools that make sense for you.
You can come alone or together with your partner. Some things are best looked at together; others are best understood individually first. We find what works.
As an examined and certified sexologist and couples therapist, my background is systemic and trauma-informed: sexuality is affected by the nervous system, by the safety the body senses in the moment, by shame, boundaries and by the experiences we carry. That experience from many years of work with people and relationships is what I bring when we talk about what is most close and vulnerable. Read more about my professional background.
